What is the
FortuneSeeker site about?
This site started because I'm fed up to my eyeballs
with all the self-proclaimed "gurus",
that are primarily
driven by greed, ambition and arrogance.
Welcome to the real world.
These gurus and their spawn have
gotten away with making their pie-in-the-sky
promises for years,
and have left a trail of casualties in their
wake.
Every year, millions
turn to
the internet with the dream of making a little extra money for their
families or starting their own online business from the
comfort of their homes.
Some have heard the bellowing
of the street corner hucksters and others the
modern day snake oil peddlers and believe they
can just sit on their butts and get rich.
Whatever their reason, they
all are completely unaware of
the "schools" of unscrupulous sharks, that are
in a constant feeding frenzy, devouring as much
of their money as they can before these dreamers
"get educated" and
see through the fraud.
The sad reality is that most of these newbies (over 90%)will fail or quit their new online business...
broke, frustrated and with their dreams shattered.
And the sharks just move on to the next "chums".
So, what is a guru, really?
On the internet, we'll often hear someone described as a marketing
guru, a traffic guru, a copywriting guru, an Adwords guru or whatever. The term is bandied
about freely to anyone these days, gurus wearing
black hats or white, but do you know the origin
of the word?
The old Hindu text, the Advayataraka Upanishad,
defines the Guru as:
The syllable gu means shadows.
The syllable ru, he who disperses them.
Because of the power to disperse darkness
the guru is thus named.
Literally, a Guru
removes the darkness of ignorance.
Does that definition describe
the person hawking the latest and greatest
infoproduct? Not usually.
We all need a teacher.
The fact is, all of us, at
some point in our development, will need a teacher. We all
have questions we need answered, whether it's
in business, love, spiritual things, you name it.
We're all hungry for enlightenment.
The sharks play on this need.
Finding experienced and successful people
that are willing to support and guide you, is the tough part.
They're not all sharks, but they are hard to find.
My three favorites for putting out great
information are John Reece,
Michael Campbell
and
Jack Humphrey. But there are many more, so be sure to check my
mentor reviews.
John Reese's Traffic Secrets completely changed my
view of the internet. It's one of the only products that I
ever bought that I
can't be without. Michael Campbell's
IMS Newsletter
is always filled with great stuff you can use, and don't
forget Jack Humphrey's
Friday Traffic Report for all things Web 2.0
Be Prepared. It's not just for Boy Scouts.
You must prepare yourself to learn and then put into practice what you
have learned. I cannot express this strongly enough!
You would be amazed at just how many people FAIL simply
because they do not take action.
Okay FortuneSeeker, here's the big question...
What's the secret to making money
online?
Do you still believe that there's just one secret that you
need to have? Come on.
What I can tell you is this, the only way you're going to achieve any
long term success, marketing on the internet, is to develop
real marketing skills, not following the gimmick
du jour.
There is no easy way.
Anyone who tells you different is trying to sell you
something.
If you continue to believe the hype of the instant wealth
scammers and jump on every new or hot trend of the day, you're never
going to make any money.
The FortuneSeeker is here to help!
It is my commitment to point the way, provide support, steer you away
from the sharks, share tips and tricks to keep you
moving toward your goal of a successful online
business from the comfort of your home.
So take a good look around and
be sure to check out our
Blog.
And do me a favor, join the
Forum,
together we can build a community.
